Capacity : 2×195 MW extension at Muzaffarpur TPS
Coal Requirement : 2.20 MMTPA
Status :
- Feasibility Report prepared and approved by Company Board. Estimated cost Rs. 2,918 Crores.
- Unit size reduced from 250 MW to 195 MW as per aviation clearance of chimney height to 146.5 metres accorded by Airport Authority of India.
- Coal linkage accorded by Ministry of Coal (MoC) from ECL for 2.92 MMTPA in December 08.
- NTPC Ltd. is consultant.
- State plan outlay amounting to Rs. 32.14 Crores has been approved by Planning Dept., GoB for the year 2009-10. Rs. 2.14 crores released to KBUNL in Sept. 2009.
- Bids invited from BHEL for Main Plant package opened in July 2009. Negotiations are in progress with BHEL.
- Water: Water Resources Dept., GoB has given consent for 45 Cusecs from River Burhi Gandak. Clearance from CWC awaited.
- 100% generated power to Bihar/BSEB.
