Gama Infraprop Seeks MoEF Clearance for 225 MW CCPP
Posted on August 30, 2010.Gama Infraprop which is planning to set up a 225 MW CCPP at Kashipur in Uttarkhand has been issued the Terms of Reference ( TOR) by Ministry of Environment and Forests to proceed with preparing the Environment Impact Assessment Study.
Company Background : Gama Infraprop belongs to RLG Group, a leading plasticizer manufacturer based in Gujarat.
Project Details : The project involves setting up of 225 MW Combined Cycle Gas Based TPP at village Mahuakheraganj, in Kashipur Taluk, in Udham Singh nagar Distt., in Uttarakhand. Land requirement will be about 25 acres, which is in Uttarakhand Industrial Park notified Industrial Area.
In June 2010, the company retained M/s Sai Geotechnical Engineers Pvt. Ltd, Ghaziabad to undertake Geotechnical Investigation work and topographical & Contour survey work for proposed Gas based Power Project and the work is under progress.
In July 2010, the company had invited Request for Qualification ( RFQ) and from EPC Contractors and OEMs ( Original Equipment Manufacturers) for supplying and installing Steam Generators and Steam Turbine Generators for the proposed project.
Environment Clearance Status : The project proposal, drafted by the company’s consultant, M/s GIS Enabled Environment & Neo-Graphic Centre was submitted on June 01, 2010. The Expert Appraisal Committee took the project for consideration on August 01, 2010 and instructed the project promoter to prepare the draft EIA ( Environment Impact Assessment ) covering the issues raised during the discussion.
Also, the company was instructed to submit the Draft EIAfor appraisal by the Expert Appraisal Committee for consideration of awarding environmental clearance.
