Gujarat Power Plans Solar Park at Patan
Posted on August 29, 2010.Gujarat Power Corp is planning to develop a solar park in North Gujarat. The proposed park will have solar manufacturing units including panels and cells with an installed capacity in the range of 5MW to 50 MW. The park would also house a skill development centre for the operation and maintenance of the solar park and other solar units.
The state government of Gujarat has reportedly set aside 3,000 hectares of land at about 20 km north-west of Santhalpur, where the park is proposed to be set up.
Presently, discussions are underway with Asian Development Bank ( ADB) and International Finance Corporation ( IFC) to fund the Rs.800 crore project.
