Sravanthi Energy – Expansion of Combined Cycle Gas Based TPP
The proposal is for expansion from 225 MW to 450 MW Combined Cycle Gas Based TPP at village Khaikhera, in Kashipur Taluk, in Udhamsinghnagar Distt., in Uttarakhand. Land requirement for expansion will be about 10 acres, which is in the notified Industrial Area. Total land for both phases will be 40 acres. The co-ordinates of the plant will be at Latitude 29009-10.80- N to 29009-27.92- N and Longitude 78058-19.70- E to 78058-42.60- E. Natural gas requirement will be about 0.9 MMSCMD. Water requirement of about 600 cum/day for the expansion will be obtained from Ground water. There are no wildlife sanctuary, national park, biosphere / tiger reserve, heritage sites etc. with 10 km distance of the proposed site.
The environmental and forests ministry informed the project promoter that after preparing the draft EIA the same shall be submitted to the SPCB for conducting the public hearing as per procedure of EIA notification 2006. The issues which emerge during public hearing shall be further incorporated in the Draft EIA/EMP report. The final EIA/EMP report along with public hearing report and the requisite documents (including written objections, if any) shall be submitted to the Ministry for appraisal by the Expert Appraisal Committee for consideration of awarding environmental clearance.
