Global Powmin, promoted by Abhijeet Industries is planning to set up a 2640 MW (4 x 660 MW) Coal Based Thermal Power Plant at Sirdala in Nawada district of Bihar. The project was originally cleared by Bihar State Investment Promotion Board in June 2010.

The project is estimated to cost Rs.14908.40 crore. The company has reportedly sought coal linkage from Central Coalfields ( CCL) and the application is pending.

The expert appraisal committee under environmental ministry is planning to consider the project at a review meeting scheduled to be conducted on October 18th 2010. Upon meeting the compliance requirements, the project will be issued TOR ( terms of reference).
