Jaiprakash Group to set up 120 MW Captive Power Plant
To meet the power requirement for its proposed cement expansion programme, Jaypee Group is planning to set up an integrated 120 MW ( 2 x 60 MW) coal or washery rejects based captive power plant at Kariajhar village in Sidhi district of Madhya Pradesh. The generated power will be wheeled to own plants through SEB transmission network.
The project is estimated to cost Rs.519 Crores. The project will be commissioned within 36 months from zero date.
The proposed plant is being set up in the land within the own premises adjacent to its existing cement plant.
The captive power plant will have two CFBC Boilers which will be fired on coal from SECL and / or washery rejects from Turki. The total coal requirement will be 1.0 million tpa.

Sulphur Content in Coal : 0.5%
Ash Content in Coal : 40% to 60%
Ash Generation : 1800 tpd , entire ash generated will be used in cement manufacturing
ESP Efficiency : > 99.98%
Stack Height : one 125 m height bi-flue stack
Water Requirement : 1566 cubic metres / day
Source of Water : Banasagar Canal
Currently the project is awaiting the state pollution control board clearance.
