Perambalur Sugar Seeks PCB Clearance for 18 MW Co-Gen PP
Perambalur Sugar Mills is in the process of seeking clearance for its proposed 18 MW Bagasse based co-generation power plant at its sugar mill complex in Eraiyur Village in Perambalur district of TN.
It is proposed to develop a co-gen Power Plant by using Baggase as main fuel during season and biomass/coal/lignite during offseason. The project is proposed to be developed with 1X 18 MW units.
The 1 x 18 MW co-gen power plant planned with
- Baggased sourced from Sugar Mill during season & biomass/coal/lignite are sourced from Open Market during off season.
- Technology – Multi Fuel Fired Boiler
The coal-based thermal power plant comprising of following units:
- Steam generator
- Steam turbine
- Fuel handling system
- Ash handling system
- Air Cooled Condenser
- ESP
- Power plant stack (95 m Height)
- Fuel system
- Utilities and services
The cost of the total project is estimated as Rs.102.40 Crores, which includes Rs.15 Crores for environmental protection measures. The project is scheduled to be commissioned in January, 2012.
Tamil Nadu Pollution Control Board is expected to conduct Public Hearing for the project on 14th December 2010. After which, the project will be given clearance, subject to compliance with pollution control norms.
