Uttarakhand govt to float JV with GAIL
UJVN Ltd, Uttarakhand government enterprise for power generation, will set up a joint venture with GAIL to install two power plants in the state.
A decision to this effect was taken by state cabinet meeting chaired by Chief Minister B C Khanduri.
The joint venture company would set up two gas-based power projects at Haridwar and Kashipur town of Udhamsingh Nagar district. The land for the projects, having a capacity of 350 mw each, have already been identified
The UJVN had signed an MoU with GAIL in June this year to set up two power plants with a total investment of Rs 2500 crore.
The majority of the power from these power plants would be sold to Uttarakhand through a long-term power purchase agreement (PPA).
